The role:

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be accountable for the development and deployment of appropriate resource to deliver outstanding service, the financial management of operations, maintenance, long term planned correctives and management accountabilities associated with leading a large team. 

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the delivery of field-based services within the South region
  • Working collaboratively in the execution of routine operations, preventative and corrective maintenance work
  • Managing a team within the South region through work planning, performance management, and effective coordination
  • Providing team members with guidance and coaching on difficult or complex problems
  • Developing individual roles within the team and establish development plans for team members
  • Ensuring all routine operations, preventative, corrective and planned corrective work is conducted in a way that ensures risk is at acceptable and tolerable levels at all times
  • Ensuring all incidents and accidents are reported and investigated and that there is a continual focus on hazard identification

 

Please note that due to the nature of this role, there will be travel involved to other Sunwater regional assets within the South region. Please also note that you will be required to work in a 1 in 2 on-call roster.

 

You will bring:

You will have experience in the provision of managing infrastructure operations and maintenance services on bulk water and distribution infrastructure. Demonstrating well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, you will have experience leading, mentoring, and coaching team members.

In addition, you will have:-

  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and operations and maintenance programs including a variety of electrical, mechanical and civil plant and equipment
  • Extensive knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements and the ability to apply that knowledge to the delivery of water related services.
  • Drivers licence
