To support our ongoing focus on strengthening cyber resilience, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Cyber Security Advisor for a 12‑month fixed‑term role to lead third‑party security oversight, enhance our cyber risk practices, and contribute to the continued evolution of our Information Security Management System (ISMS).

In this role, you’ll take ownership of Sunwater’s third‑party cyber risk processes, ensuring our suppliers meet robust security expectations and that our internal stakeholders are empowered to make informed decisions. You’ll also play a key part in maturing our ISMS, strengthening policies, and driving continuous improvement across our security controls.
In addition, you will:-
- Lead and mature Sunwater’s third‑party cyber risk and security governance processes, including framework refinement, supplier assessments, and clear reporting to stakeholders.
- Strengthen security controls across the organisation by guiding vulnerability management activities, advising stakeholders, and maintaining effective security policies, procedures, and audit follow‑up actions.
- Drive continuous improvement of the Information Security Management System by reviewing compliance against best practice, addressing identified gaps, and recommending enhancements to Sunwater’s cyber security controls.
You’ll thrive in this role if you bring 5–7 years of cyber security experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. You’ll understand key frameworks such as ISO 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and Essential Eight, supported by certifications like CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer. A proactive, curious mindset and a commitment to strengthening cyber resilience in a critical infrastructure environment will set you up for success.
This is a full time 12-month fixed term opportunity, based at our Fortitude Valley office.
